The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

We invite anyone who is interested in becoming Catholic or has questions about the Catholic faith to come to our formation nights open to anyone wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith. 

Classes are typically Thursday nights starting in the fall. We have a flexible schedule if Thursday nights don't work for you.

Every year, a group of adult men and women enter the Catholic Church at Transfiguration through the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.” Some of them have never been baptized as Christians; others are already members of various Christian communities, but now wish to join the Catholic Church. Becoming Catholic includes sessions with instruction, prayer, and discussion, led by Father Brian Lynch, who is assisted by a team of Transfiguration parishioners. Participants are welcomed into the Church at Easter, when they receive the Sacraments of full initiation.
