Red Klaas
2016 Hall of Fame Inductee
(Our beloved Jerry’s Dad) - Red Klaas was a former President and Vice President of the Transfiguration Men's Club. He was awarded the Men’s Club General Activities Award in 1971 - 1972. He won the President's Award in 1972 - 1973 and the President's Award for Outstanding Service in 1992.
Red was involved with purchasing equipment and uniforms for the school’s sports teams. He, and the Men’s Club, found many ways to raise the money needed to buy the things the school’s sports teams needed. The school’s sports teams never had to worry about where they would get the money to purchase uniforms and equipment, as long as the Transfiguration Men's Club was around. They held many events that would raise the money and bring the community of Transfiguration together for social gatherings.
Red was a Parishioner for 58 years and employee of Transfiguration for 20 years, before his death in 2014. The kids in the school meant everything to him. He loved the kids and would provide money or food for kids that forgot their lunch or didn't have the money that day.
