Chris Preiner

Chris Preiner proudly attended Transfiguration school from 1966-1975. It was during his time as a Tiger that his passion for basketball, baseball, track and swimming grew. His great passion was matched by his natural athletic ability and his love for both his teammates and coaches.
A true leader, Chris went on to serve as the Original Chair (2002 – 2007) of the Transfiguration Athletic Committee (TAC) and helped organize TAC for purpose of re-establishing Transfiguration athletic programs as a perennial powerhouse for both boys’ and girls’ sports. He was instrumental in helping revive the “Black & Gold” Gala as the primary fund-raising event for athletic programs. Through his dedication to TAC, he helped raise funds for sporting equipment, field renovation, scoreboards, bleachers and trophy cabinets.
Chris shared some of his greatest gifts with the Transfiguration Community throughout his extensive coaching career. He began coaching the Boys Basketball team, whom he coached from 1980-82 and again in 2002 until 2007. He notably coached St. Paul City Championship Teams from 2004-2007 and in 2007 added the Twin Cities Championship to the list of his coaching accomplishments. His combined 4-year record was an unprecedented 67 wins and 5 losses. In addition to coaching Boys Basketball, Chris also coached Girls Basketball from 2000-2004.
Chris is married to Transfiguration’s technology teacher Terri Preiner. They have four children, Lindsay, Courtney, Luke and Drew who all attended Transfiguration Catholic School.
